UNILAG Management Reacts To Death of Female Student
The authorities of the University of Lagos, (UNILAG), have reacted to the reports of a student who died at the school health centre after an alleged night out with a supposed man who was said to be her sugar daddy.
The student simply identified as Tope a Chemistry Education student and a resident at the Moremi Hall of the University was said to have slumped and died at the institution’s medical centre.
A source was quoted as saying that Tope came back from a night club around midnight on Friday and when she got to the hostel she started gasping for breath.
She was rushed to the UNILAG Medical Centre but eventually died and it is reported that the student whom Tope was squatting with is being threatened with eviction from the hostel.
But the management of the university via the statement said no student died at the centre.
Mr. Toyin Adebule, the Deputy Registrar of the Information Unit of UNILAG signed the statement which said that Tope died before she was brought to the medical centre.
He also said that there is no report from the hall to the Dean of Students Affairs on the incident and hence no student has been ejected from the hall.
