Tompolo Vows Not To Destroy Oil Facilities Again

Former Nigerian militant commander of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo has said that his group has no hands in a fresh threat to the Federal Government by the Niger Delta Avengers.

In a statement signed by his media consultant, Paul Bebenimibo, the MEND leader said he is not the brain behind the planned attack on oil facilities and pipeline by NDA and the RNDA.

Earlier a media statement had alleged that Tompolo was the brain behind the planned attack and that he was working with the Federal Government to malign the Niger Delta region.

The statement read, “Ordinarily, we would have ignored these media statements by these so-called avengers and reformed avengers but just need to dissociate ourselves from this.”

The statement noted that Tompolo would not attack oil facilities because of his legal battle with the government.

Let it be clearly stated at this point that Government Tompolo is not the only Nigerian (person) having legal issues with the present government.

The statement, however, called for true federalism, the participation of Niger Deltans in the oil industry and establishment of modular refineries.

It also campaigned for the relocation of the headquarters of the International Oil Companies and resumption of academic activities in the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko.
