Sheriff’s Plan is To Become President in 2019 – Makarfi
The embattled Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party’s National Caretaker Committee, Ahmed Makarfi has attributed the ongoing crisis in the party to the plan of the ambition of the National Chairman of the party, Ali Modu Sheriff.
Makarfi said that Modu Sheriff had presidential ambition for 2019 and had been using every avenue to remain relevant in the party and had allowed the crisis to degenerate to this level.
The spokesman of the caretaker committee, Dayo Adeyeye said that the Makarfi faction could not trust Sheriff with the party.
However, the sheriff faction had accused the Makarfi faction of trying to compromise the Supreme Court judgment so as to have the control of the party through the back door.
In a counter argument, Adeyeye said that there was no time the Markarfi’s faction had tried to compromise the Supreme Court judgment, describing Sheriff’s allegation as mere insinuation.
He said that nobody could buy the Supreme Court over, adding that the Makarfi faction would not engage in impunity.
Their subtle blackmail of Supreme Court is unbecoming. Responding to the insinuation that Wike didn’t win the governorship election, Adeyeye said for Sheriff to make such insinuations shows that he is working for the APC.
Adeyeye accused Modu Sheriff of working for the All Progressives Congress, APC, adding that his comments on the victory of Nyesom Wike, Governor of Rivers State had indicated his fraternity with APC.
“Modu Sheriff said that Wike did not win Rivers State election. How can a PDP leader be saying this when he is not an APC member. It has shown that Sheriff is working for APC,” he said.
