Restructuring: We Believe In Restructuring – PDP
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said reacted to the statement made by the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Bolaji Abdulahi that on the issue of restructuring.
The PDP said that it has interest in restructuring and that it had since amended its constitution to accommodate such move.
The National Publicity Secretary of the PDP National Caretaker Committee, Dayo Adeyeye, said this while clarifying a statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Bolaji Ojo-Abdullahi that PDP does not have interest in restructuring.
Adeyeye said that he was surprised that APC could be talking about restructuring now after months of denial that it had no such in its manifestos.
“As the word implies, restructuring is a process of re-arrangement, re-organization or re-formation of the manner or way in which something (in this case governance) is done.
He said that it is imperative to let Nigerians know that PDP is in full support of restructuring if it would ensure development and economic growth of the country.
He stated that in order to work out a way to lift the country out of the present bad situation, the PDP took a step to amend its constitution to enable it address the situation on ground.
“PDP constitution was amended to include, national integration, equitable devolution (decentralization) of power for greater functionality and rapid economic and social reconstruction.
