Police Deploy Sniffer Dogs In Lagos Underground Kidnappers Den

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni has said that the state command will deploy sniffer dogs to the newly discovered kidnappers’ dungeon at Obadeyi in Ijaye area of the state.

He said this on Wednesday while reacting to the discovery of the dungeon and the killing of two suspected kidnappers by angry mobs in the area on Tuesday.

Owoseni said that seven suspects had since been arrested in connection with the dungeon and kidnapping of innocent people in the state.

A highway sweeper with the Lagos State Waste Management Agency (LAWMA) raised the alarm on Tuesday when she heard the voice of a woman calling for help from the canal.

Sensing the danger coming, two of the suspected kidnappers with gourds in their mouth wanted to escape but were apprehended by residents and set ablaze.

Residents and members of the Oodua Peoples Congress went into the canal to search if they could find more suspects but they had fled.

“They discovered clothes, wigs, wallets, bags and Identity cards belonging to the various victims of the abductors at the dungeon,” the police boss said.

Owoseni urged residents not to take law into their hands but should always endeavor to hand over suspects to the police instead of visiting on them jungle justice.
