Police Arraigns A Banker 'Titilayo Adeyemo' For Stealing Customer’s N5.8m

The police have arraigned a banker working with Eco Bank Plc, Titilayo Adeyemo before Igbosere magistrates’ court for stealing customer’s N5.8 million.

 

The 40-year-old banker is facing a three-count charge bordering on fraud, forgery and conversion.

 

According to prosecutor, Inspector Abass Abayomi, the accused, Titilayo committed the alleged offence sometime in May and October 2016.

 

The prosecutor told the court that the defendant who was a staff of the bank, Gbagada branch forged a receipt and asked the complainant to fill the receipt, which was not the actual bank receipt.

 

He said that the offence is punishable under Section 285(7), 361 and 323 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

 

However, the defendant pleaded not guilty as she sought bail from the court.

 

She was granted bail by Magistrate Chiamaka to the tune of N5 million bail, with two sureties.

 

The sureties, according to the magistrate must be gainfully employed. The case was adjourned to September 19 for mention.
