NIGERIA OLYMPIC FOOTBALL TEAM STILL STUCK IN ATLANTA

The Nigeria U-23 team, the dream team VI despite reports to the contrary are still yet to depart the United States for Rio just 36 hours to their first match.

They are expected to leave this morning after several delays in the arrangements for them to leave Atlanta to Brazil.

The latest reason for them not leaving this time has to do with the chartered airline claiming they haven’t yet received the payment to airlift the team.

The comical state of things in the Nigeria Football Federation and the Sports Ministry has combined to reduce the teams chances of preparing well for the first match against Japan.

A source close to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) stated that the money paid by the ministry of sports for the charter flight did not reflect in the airline’s account on Tuesday which made the airline decided not to airlift the team.

It is said that this is due to the several channels the money has to take so as to be converted for the airline.

The team will now be expected to leave today for Rio.
