Nigeria Needs Energetic President – Pastor Tunde Bakare
Fiery Pastor of the Latter Rain Assembly, Tunde Bakare has said that Nigeria would need energetic leader to lead the country.
He said this at a news conference shortly after the Sunday service, adding that the wrong choice of elderly presidents in the last few years had compounded the country woes.
In his speech entitled ‘The birth pangs of a new Nigeria,’ Bakare cited French President, Emmanuel Macron 39 as an indication of a global paradigm shift.
The pastor said that though Nigerians should pray for President Muhammadu Buhari quick recovery, Nigerians would need an energetic president.
He stated that Nigeria was once ruled by a 30-year-old Yakubu Gowon for over nine years and it would not be out of place if such age could come on board again to lead the country.
“What happened in France recently is a clear sign that there is going to be a change of guards almost worldwide. But let’s accept our own thing and resolve our issues with wisdom.
He warned about usurping the position of Buhari who is currently recuperating in a London hospital, saying, “This may lead to the country to serious problem.”
He said that Buhari had done the necessary by transferring power to his vice, Yemi Osinbajo so that there would be no leadership vacuum.
“Those who don’t learn (from) the blunder of history will repeat the blunder of history until they become history.
He also called on the military to be careful not to plot coup against the present administration.
