Man Denies Killing Mother For Rituals
A middle-aged man, Christopher Nwajei who beheaded his mother about two weeks ago in Umuchagu Osokwa, Osisisoma Ngwa Local Government Area of Abia State said he did not kill for rituals.
He confessed to the Abia State Police Command after he was arrested that he killed his mother because she called him a bastard.
Nwajei beheaded his mother and collected her blood, according to the residents of the community who apprehended him at a nearby bush while trying to escape.
He committed the crime on March 29, at about 7: 30 pm as the woman was preparing dinner on the fateful night.
Nwajei held his mother Cecilia by the neck, beheaded her and took her blood for ritual,” a source told our correspondent.
The residents later saw what he did and had been searching for him until this weekend when he was sighted in a nearby bush and was quickly apprehended.
“We handed him over to the police immediately,” one of the residents said.
However the suspect said that he did not kill her mother for ritual but that he was angered when the woman disclosed that he was a bastard and not a real son of Umuchagu Osokwa village.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Geoffrey Ogbonna, who confirmed the arrest of the suspect, added that police are currently investigating the incident.
