JAMB Concludes 2016 University Admission

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially closed admission to all federal and state universities this year after it stated that the process of admission has ended.

This information was disclosed by the Registrar/Chief Executive of the examination body, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, when he spoke to newsmen.

However, he stated that there has been an extension of the 2016 admissions to all Polytechnics, Monotechnics, Colleges of Education and also Private Universities.

This information from him is a general announcement to the schools affected as he stated that they should take note including the general public.

The official date for the closure was given as Wednesday, November 30, 2016.

The extension for the Polytechnics, Monotechnics, Colleges of Education and Private Universities was approved by the Honourable Minister of Education who has given a time extension of two weeks (from December 1 to December 15, 2016).

He also looked ahead to 2017 as he stated that all interested Computer Based Test centre owners (old and prospective) should apply online through JAMB official website for due accreditation for the Universities Tertiary Matriculation Examination in 2017.

He called on stakeholders and the general public to support JAMB in its quest to provide quality examining atmosphere.
