How Maid Stole Boss’ $10,000 And Exchanged it At N86/Dollar
A housemaid, identified as Blessing Paul has been arrested for allegedly stealing her boss’ $10, 000 and changed it at N86 per dollar.
The Lagos State Police Command revealed this, adding that the maid committed the offence in her boss’ Gbagada residence.
The police report showed that Blessing broke into her boss’ room when she was not at home and stole $10, 000, which she later handed over to the house guard to change to Naira.
However, the guard in turn allegedly gave the money to another security guard, simply known as Amos who eventually took the money to a Bureau De Change.
Sensing that the money must been stolen, the operator of the BDC, shortchanged the maid, buying the money at N86 per dollar.
When arrested, the BDC operator claimed he received only $5000 from Amos.
Meanwhile, the maid who is presently at the police custody said she was pushed to commit the crime by the guards, adding that she did not have the intention to steal her boss’ dollar.
She said that the boss was good to her and always bought clothes for her and members of her family.
The command’s spokesman, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, said the sum of N400,000 had since been found in the maid’s bank account.
