Gunmen Kill Husband, Wife And Son in Lagos

Gunmen, suspected to be cultists struck at Ibeshe Titun Area of Ikorodu Lagos Wednesday, killing a family of three, man, wife and their teenage boy.

The killers gained entrance into the victims’ apartment late Wednesday night when resident had slept to commit the crime.

Investigation revealed that the assailants smashed the heads of their victims with grinding stones and fled, leaving them in the pools of their blood.

According to report, the boy was writing the ongoing West African Senior Secondary School before the tragedy struck.

Some teachers and students had visited the deceased home to ask why he had failed to show up for the examination on Wednesday only to discover his body in the pool of blood.

A student who refused to mention his name had peeped through the window after the visitors had knocked the door but with no response from the family.

The doors were all locked but one of the windows was opened. “I peeped and saw the three of them lying lifeless. Their heads had been smashed with grinding stone,” the student said.

One of the sympathizers revealed that the killers could be cultists, judging by the weapon they used to kill.

He said, “This is not the first time such incident has happened here. We are living in fear here because of the activities of cultists.”

Policemen from Ipakodo Division, who were contacted, arrived the scene and took the corpses to the Ikorodu General Hospital morgue.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Olarinde Famous-Cole, said that the police had begun investigation over the case.
