Governor of Yobe Sacks Information Commissioner
Governor of Yobe state, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam has just sacked Alhaji Aji Yerima Bularafa the commissioner for Information and culture in the state.
This was disclosed as part of a press statement which was made available to journalist in the state capital, Damaturu, by the spokesperson to Secretary of the State Government, Shaibu Abdullahi.
Part of the statement reads that “His Excellency governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe state has relieved Alhaji Aji Yerima Bularafa of his appointment as a Honourable commissioner of information and culture and member of Yobe state executive council with immediate effect.”
It further went on to say that the governor has given directives that the said commissioner should hand over all details and affairs of the office to the current permanent secretary until such a time as when the appointment of a new commissioner is announced.
As is the case with some politically motivated appointments and terminations, it has been disclosed by a reliable source in the government house that the commissioner was sacked due to unwillingness to support the government and that he is the first as others would soon follow.
Another source who is a staff of the ministry of information and culture who spoke anonymously to news men stated that the commissioner was accused of incompetence hence his sack.
