Gani Adams Speaks As Aare Ona Kakanfo
Otunba Gani Adams, the new Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland has said that he will use his position to promote the unity and peace of Yoruba land.
Adams who described himself as a fighter said that he would reach out to the former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on how to build unity among Yorubas.
Adams stated that he is not too young at 47 to become the Aare Ona Kakanfo, adding that his predecessors were also in their 40s when they were honoured with the title.
He said that though he might not be as rich as his immediate predecessor, Bashorun MKO, Abiola, the new Aare said that he would use the office to fight for the interest of Yoruba race.
“I am going to be a bridge-builder and promote the unity of the Yoruba race. I will reach out to people who will help to move the Yoruba race. I am going to reach out to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other Yoruba leaders,” Adams said.
He recalled how the late Human Rights Activist and Lawyer, Gani Fawehinmi used to call him generalissimo and that today the vision had been fulfilled.
He stated that contrary to the opinions of many people that perhaps he lobbied for the position, Adams said that he never did such thing.
Meanwhile, Tinubu and the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun had congratulated the new Aare Ona Kakanfo.
