Members of the Catholic Community in Enugu State yesterday Saturday held different protests in the state against the activities of herdsmen in the state.

Enugu state has 3 catholic dioceses, Enugu, Nsukka and Agwu with each of them holding the protest individually to state their displeasure of marauding herdsmen.

Priests, Sisters the Clergy and laity turned out in their thousands for the peaceful protest which was tagged “Diocesan peaceful prayerful protest march.”

The protest was originally planned to end at the government house in the state capital but those plans were jettisoned after word came of plans by miscreants to hijack the protest for self serving motives.
