Buhari/Osinbajo’s Tete-a-Tete : A Signal To Cabinet Reshuffle

Buhari/Osinbajo’s Tete-a-Tete : A Signal To Cabinet Reshuffle

Women are silent but very powerful. A president in one of Nigeria News once described his wife as belonging to the kitchen and other rooms.

Mrs. Aisha Buhari, wife of Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari once raised the alarm that cabals had hijacked the government of her husband, even when the man was hale and hearty.

She granted an interview to an international media, calling for a quick cabinet reshuffle, which never happened until the president health began to fail and the cabals grew in size and powers.

The cabals, Aisha would later described as Hyenas and Cabals, thanks to Senator Shehu Sani, a poet and lawmaker representing Kaduna Central with his metaphors.

Aisha has gone to London for about two weeks now to watch over the ailing husband and president of the Republic of Nigeria, Mr. Buhari but the first lady’s voice has become louder.

This time, she is not speaking from the kitchen or other rooms, Aisha speaks louder from the sitting room and she is beginning to call the shot that is sending fear to the hyenas and jackals.

She repeats that the lion king will soon return to send the smaller predators away.

On Tuesday, the threat became a bit visible when Acting President Yemi Osinbajo hurriedly jetted out of the country to meet with president Buhari in London.

It was a very short meeting that lasted less than an hour. The Acting president flew back to Abuja and kept mum until Wednesday at the Federal Executive Council meeting where he simply said, “I went to see the president. Though we usually speaks on phone but there was the need to see him physically this time.”

Osinbajo had been having a running battle with the National Assembly in the recent time and it appeared to him there were moles in the presidency that divulged information to frustrate him from acting properly.

The acting president has gotten the capacity as described by the New York Time Magazine to lead the country out of the present economic doldrums but there are public officers who would not want him to lead.

Osinbajo could only say that the meeting between him and the president was brief but fruitful. He also said that it centred on the decisions he had taken so far and his plan to take further steps, which the president would need to give his nod.

Although, Buhari had officially transferred the presidential powers to Osinbajo, the latter would always like to feel the impulse of the former before taking some actions.

“Buhari has taken me as his child”, Osinbajo once said. However, feelers showed that the tete-a-tete between Buhari and Osinbajo went beyond policies formulation but it was more of cabinet reshuffle, which might happen soon.
Asked to give details of the meeting, Osinbajo told journalists that he would never speak about the details of the meeting.

“It will come in action not in speech,” a source said. The source also stated that it might happen the way it happened to a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, David Babachir Lawal who was sacked over grass cutting project.

“Remember that the president was not around when Lawal was sacked by the Acting President,” the source noted.

When journalists told Lawal that the presidency had suspended him; he queried, “Who are the presidency, having categorized himself as one of the power brokers.

Like a dream, the Grasscutter was consumed by what Senator Sani had described as the lion king, Buhari whose order was carried out by the acting Tiger, Osinbajo.

The hyenas and jackals have become suddenly silent, waiting for the reshuffle from the tete-a-tete between the lion and the tiger.
