Boy 15 Remanded For Defiling 3-Year-Old Girl
A 15-year-old Secondary School Pupil (Names withheld) has been remanded at the Boys’ Correctional Centre, Oregun, Lagos for defiling a three-year-old girl.
An Ikeja Magistrate Court ordered the boy to be remanded until he is able to fulfil his bail condition of N200, 000 and two sureties in like manner.
He was arraigned before the court on Tuesday but pleaded innocence of offence he committed on December 19 at his parents residence on Adeyemi Makinde Street, Alagbado, Lagos suburb.
He was charged for defilement and according to the prosecutor Simeon Inuoha, the accused lured the minor into his room on the day he committed the offence.
He said that it was the brother of the minor who caught him in the act and raised the alarm.
“It was the cry of the girl that attracted her brother, who caught the accused in the act.’’ The offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Reading his verdict, Chief Magistrate B.O. Osunsanmi, said that the accused would need some correctional measures as he ordered him to be remanded in Boy’s Correctional Home in Oregun.
The case has since been adjourned till January 25 pending the advice from the Director of Public Prosecution.
