20,000 Candidates Register for 2017 JAMB UTME in 48 Hours
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has disclosed via its spokesman Fabian Benjamin, that they have broken records this year with the sales of forms for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which commenced on Monday.
Benjamin revealed that the examination board has received a record registration of 20,000 prospective candidates for the UTME 2017 exam.
He made this known in a chat with the media in response to some complaints by candidates who claim to find it difficult to register for the exam in the centres accredited in Lagos state.
He revealed that JAMB has plans for and is expecting about two million candidates to register for this year’s UTME across the country with the forms still up for sale until April 19.
But then it was discovered that many accredited centres in Lagos who were yet to commence registration of candidates as at Tuesday attributed the difficulty to lack of JAMB code which is required before commencing registration.
There are 39 centres in Lagos state that have been accredited for the computer based test (CBT) while the whole country has about 600.
